Rhys Harper hired us to create a music video for his latest single, providing a clear concept while also embracing a collaborative approach. His friends’ parents were happy to be involved, adding an authentic touch to the project. We filmed Rhys separately just up the road, capturing his performance with a distinct setting. Later, we returned to the original location to shoot an additional sequence at sunset, adding a warm and atmospheric finish to the video. The final product beautifully blends these elements, showcasing the song’s emotional depth and energy. Filmed on Lumix S5iix.

Grey Fox Band approached us to make their latest music video in South Wales. It was filmed one Saturday afternoon in an old church and involved bringing in a generator to power the amplifier needed for the drummer and the lights. It was filmed with Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K Pro.

Music Videos Without the Fuss

At South Wales Video, we believe you don’t need a massive budget to get a quality music video. If you’ve got a great track and you’re serious about showing it off, we’ll help you bring it to life — properly.

Here’s how it works:

We don’t have our own studio — and that’s not a bad thing. It means your video isn’t stuck looking like everyone else’s. We’ll help you find the right location, whether it’s a moody woodland, an abandoned building, a stage, or something totally out there.

We can film anything from a quick half-day shoot to a full-on multi-day production across different places. Whether it’s you performing to camera or something more cinematic with actors and storyline — we’ve got you.

What we can bring to the shoot:

  • Pro lighting, smoke effects, and props

  • Costumes if needed

  • Actors (if you want a story in the video)

  • Drone footage and smooth camera moves

  • Ideas that’ll actually work for your song

We don’t mess about with half-jobs. If your track isn’t finished or you’re not sure what you want, we’re not the right fit. But if you’re ready to make something you’ll be proud to show off — we’ll help you do it, and we’ll keep it real all the way.

We’ll work with you on the plan, the look, the feel — so when we show up with the gear, we’re ready to go. It’ll be smooth, fun, and look the business.

Want to stand out online?
We know what makes stuff pop on social media — and what doesn’t. If going viral is your aim, we’ll give it the best chance.

Let’s make something worth remembering. Something you would stop scrolling for.

 Music Video FAQ:

How much do you charge to produce a showreel for my band?  It mainly depends on its complexity, such as how many filming sessions will be required, and if anything needs to be hired.  See our pricing guide.

Do you have a studio where we can film it? No, but if you are stuck we can suggest venues we are famliar with.

Can you make me a cool music video for my new song without me being in it? Yes, for additional expenses we can hire actors and film a narrative video for your song.

When preparing for the band’s promo video:

  1. Allow us an hour before filming to plan the shots, set up the lights and balance the audio.
  2. Don’t give away all your set-list in the promo, only a taster remember to get people to book you.
  3. Record the songs in a studio and give this track to the video producer before the shoot.
  4. Consider the setting and make sure the lighting is good. Every band member’s face should be seen clearly in the spotlight
  5. Set the atmosphere. Perhaps bring in a crowd of dancers who give their permission to be on camera.
  6. Remember to have fun and move with the music. The viewer will tune into this.
